Set in the heart of this beautiful Cathedral City, the hotel was originally built in 16th century as a private house, surrounded by Medieval and Georgian buildings. Over the years, the hotel has gained a fine reputation for good food and hospitality, offering you comfort and quality service with a warm friendly smile. Christmas Eve
Arrive in time for a complimentary finger buffet served in the lounge from Noon onwards to welcome the early arrivals. Afternoon tea and cakes will be served from 3pm in our lounge, have a go at our ‘Guess the weight of our Christmas cake’ – the closest guesses win a prize! We’ll be cutting it on Christmas Day afternoon – so don’t miss your chance of winning! Your evening begins at 6.30pm with carol singing followed by reception drinks, and a chance to meet the hotel team in the lounge and bar. A four-course party menu with wine awaits in the Conservatory. Traditional midnight mass at Winchester Cathedral is only a short walk from the hotel. Hot chocolate, mulled wine and cookies will be waiting for you on your return.

Christmas Day
Buffet breakfast is served from 8am with plenty of time for you to open your presents in the Lounge. Morning coffee and pastries will be served in the lounge from 10.30am. Enjoy a leisurely Bucks Fizz in the lounge before your five course Christmas Day lunch with wine. After lunch put your feet up for the afternoon with tea and Christmas cake around 3pm in the lounge. This evening is informal, with drinks from 7pm, followed by a display buffet and wine served around 7.30pm.

Boxing Day
Brunch is served from 8am through to 2pm, with morning coffee and pastries available in the lounge from 10.15am. There is also the opportunity to go on a walking tour of Winchester’s main attractions with a city guide. For those of you wishing to go to the Panto, we leave at 1.15pm although the theatre isn’t far to walk we’ve arranged a coach just in case! Tea, coffee and cake will be waiting for you when you get back. Dinner tonight is from 7pm onwards, marvel at the tableside magic by, our tabletop magician! After dinner – prize giving for the Christmas Quiz and Guess the weight of the Cake, then it’s eyes down for bingo in the Winton Room!

Saturday 27th December
Breakfast served from 8am to 11am, then fond farewells to friends old and new. Before you leave, don’t forget to make your booking for next year!

Regrettably the Winchester Royal Hotel has no single rooms. There is a supplement of £50 per room, per night, for a twin or double room for single occupancy.
